Home Staging Questions and Answers (FAQ's)

Below is a collection of frequently asked questions and clarification of some misconceptions.

What is Staging?

Home "Staging" is the term used for - The process of preparing a home for sale by giving it a "Model Home" look. This is done by de-personalizing, de-cluttering and neutralizing the home.  The goal of staging is to create an organized, calm, and inviting environment where buyers can envision themselves living in.  The way we living in our home and sell/market our home are two totally different things!  Staging is a marketing tool which will give your home an advantage in today’s extremely competitive market.

Staging is NOT decorating; it is merchandising "the product".

When you get ready to place your home on the market it becomes a product. Much like a product on the shelf at a store. The product has features and benefits, as well as pluses and minuses. And COMPETITION!  A professional stager will evaluate your home from the curb to closets with "Buyers Eyes." They determine what needs to be done to make it attractive to potential buyers.  With good staging you highlight a home's positive features while downplaying the negatives.

Why Should I Stage My Home?

The average buyer will decide if they are interested in your home within the first 10 seconds. This initial reaction can make the difference between a swift sale and a house that remains on the market.  Buyers purchase a house based on feelings & emotion.

You need to WOW them immediately!

Does Staging Really Work?

Absolutely! Statistics prove it.  Your investment in Staging will cost less than your 1st Price Reduction!

  • Staged homes sell for an average of 6.9% more than a non-staged home.
  • Staged homes sell faster. A staged home spends 50% less time on the market vs a non-staged home

Doesn't Staging Cost A Fortune?

Staging is an INVESTMENT in getting a house sold and the investment in Staging is always less than a price reduction. ASP™ Stagers have been trained to work within a Seller's budget and time frame to properly Stage a house. Getting your house ready for sale is much like selling a car. You wouldn't sell a car without detailing it, therefore you need to "detail" your house as well!
